Development Engineer (Full Time)
- Full-time research assistants. Qualified candidates will be degreed in engineering, laser-electro optics, or life sciences fields or have relevant experience in these fields. Preference will be given to candidates who have a background in laboratory or medical research environments. The ability to perform independent research and problem solving are also important.
Clinical Support Engineer (Full Time)
- A clinical support engineer (CSE) to provide on-site and telephone technical assistance to end-users of an exciting new image-guided laser therapy system. The CSE will assist in installation, setup, and operation of the devices as well as provide guidance and assistance during surgical procedures. The CSE will also capture and return clinical feedback data into the design process in order to improve products and meet customer needs.
- The ideal candidate will have a technical background and training in engineering or related discipline. Familiarity with magnetic resonance imaging principles, software systems, Unix/Linux environment are a plus. In particular, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills will be important.
- Candidates must be available for travel in the U.S. and internationally.
Opto-Mechanical Engineer (Full Time)
- An experienced and highly motivated Opto-Mechanical Engineer or similarly qualified applicant to developing robust electro-optic-based instrumentation.
- Education: Minimum BS degree in engineering (preferably optical, mechanical, electrical, or biomedical engineering) or equivalent. Advanced degrees are preferable.
- Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience working in a commercial electro-optical, electro-mechanical, or, at least, a highly technical product development environment.
- Well-versed in opto-mechanical design, development, fabrication, packaging, and testing electro-optics based components comprised of light sources, detectors, fiber optics, lasers, and both refractive and reflective optics.
- Should be familiar with medical device manufacturing regulations and working under a controlled development environment and quality system as required by FDA regulations.
- Should be experienced in using commercial optical and mechanical design software (Zemax, AutoCad, Solid Works, or equivalents).
- Experience in machining, assembly (electronic, mechanical and optical) and testing is desired including the ability to perform assembly and test operations on engineering prototypes.
- Must be adaptable to work on a variety of projects from conception stage to manufacturing stage within a dynamic organization.
- Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
Research Technician (Full Time)
- A highly motivated and talented person to assist in research and development tasks related to new product manufacture and testing. The candidate will be responsible for providing testing and experimentation support that includes data collection, experimental setup, and fabrication of associated apparatus. In addition the candidate will be responsible for learning and performing manufacturing tasks associated with the assembly of current products. Experience with lasers, optics, and electronics is a plus.
- The ideal candidate will have a technical background and preferably will have an associate of bachelor level degree in Engineering Technologies or a closely related field. Clear communication and writing skills are imperative as well as an ability to work independently.
Regulatory Affairs & Contracts Assistant (Full Time)
- A highly motivated entry level employee to assist with document preparation, maintenance, and control. This individual will work closely with management and engineering staff in maintaining the quality system regulations as required by regulatory agencies. This position will also provide administrative support in the management and internal compliance for federal grants and contracts. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, with some experience working in a medical or scientific product development or research environment. Organization skills and attention to detail are must have requirements.
- The position requires a minimum associate or bachelor level degree or equivalent.
Engineering Student Intern (Part Time)
- A motivated undergraduate engineering students that are interested in gaining experience in the research and development of optically based medical technologies for part-time employment (20-30hrs/wk).
- Duties will include assisting other engineers in research tasks that include data collection, experimentation, testing, and literature searches. Other duties will also include some light machining, assembly, and packaging of current products. Experience with lasers, optics, and electronics is a plus. Clear communication and writing skills are imperative as well as an ability to work independently.
